Marquess Wilson suspended from Cougar football program

Wilson, a junior, leads the Cougars in receptions with 52.

According to a tweet from ESPN's Jessamyn McIntryre, Marquess Wilson has been suspended by Washington St. Cougars head coach Mike Leach after walking out of workouts on Sunday night.

According to the Moscow-Pullman Daily News, Wilson walked out after reportedly refusing to participate in a push-up drill early in the workout.

This is a major turn in Wilson's time with the Cougars. During Mike Leach's tenure, Wilson has been ridden hard by the coaching staff to try to get him out of his tendency to coast during practices. During the spring, the tactic seemed to be working as Wilson had turned it around in practice and was putting forth max effort. But he has seemingly regressed since the season started, culminating in last night's walk out.

Now, it's just a wait-and-see proposition as Wilson's status is further determined. But a losing season just received another possible black eye for the Cougars, Leach and his staff.
