Washington State Cougars forward Brock Motum was named the Pac-12 men's basketball player of the week, Tim Booth of the AP reported on Monday.

The senior forward scored 23 points in both games this week, a close loss to the Gonzaga Bulldogs and a win over the Fresno State Bulldogs.
The Cougars nearly pulled off their biggest upset of the year when they took Gonzaga to the wire in Pullman, Wash. Motum was 5-for-7 from three point range and added three rebounds, an assist and three blocks.
In the 59-50 win over Fresno State, Motum hit 2-of-3 from three-point range and added eight rebounds.
On the season, the preseason Wooden Award candidate is averaging 19.7 points and 6.8 rebounds a game. This is the second time Motum was named the Pac-12 player of the week in his collegitate career. He won the award close to a year ago for the week of Dec. 5-11. He is the sixth Cougar to earn the award multiple times in his career.
