Preseason Wooden Award nominee Brock Motum gets his final season as a Cougar underway as Washington State hosts Eastern Washington.
Motum will be the go-to-guy for the Cougars after guard Reggie Moore was dismissed from the team earlier in the year. Moore was the third highest scorer for the Cougars.
Motum averaged 18 points and 6.4 rebounds a game last year as the Cougars went 19-18 overall, 7-11 in the Pac-12. Junior guard Faisel Aden was the second leading scorer for the Cougars last year with 14.5 points a game.
The question for the Cougars will be who is running the ball down the court to hand it off to Motum. Moore was that player last year, averaging over five assists a game. Royce Woolridge and DaVonte Lacy are expected to battle it out for the minutes at starting point guard.
Eastern Washington loses three of their four top scorers from last season. Senior forward Collin Chiverton was the second leading scorer for the Eagles last year with 13.9 points a game. The other three scorers accounted for close to 50 percent of the Eagles offensive output.
Game time: Saturday, Nov. 10; 4:30 p.m. PT
TV schedule: Pac-12 Networks
