WSU Vs. Idaho State Score Update: Cougars Lead 54-7 In Third Quarter

The Washington State Cougars are pouring it on against the Idaho State Bengals, leading 47-7 halfway into the third quarter. The Cougars have scored no less than 17 points in each of the first two quarters (23 in the first, 17 in the second) and may be on track to put up another 17 points in the third.

The Huskies have amassed 453 total yards with more than 25 minutes of playing time left in the game. Quarterback Marshall Lobbestael has completed 14 of 19 passes for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Leading receiver Marquees Wilson has 91 receiving yards and one touchdown on four receptions, including a 61-yard touchdown strike as the final seconds of the second quarter winded down to halftime. Leading rusher Rickey Galvin has 64 yards and two touchdowns on seven carries, while fellow running back Logwone Mitz has 58 yards and one touchdown on eight rushes.

The Cougars defense has limited the Bengals to just 175 yards and nine first downs (compared to 24 first downs for the Cougars). More impressive still is that Cougars have held the Bengals to just five total rushing yards for the entire game. The Bengals have had 16 rushing attempts, but the Cougars defense has been incredibly tough against the run and is holding the Bengals to less than 0.5 yards per carry.

Can the Cougars crack the 70-point mark by the end of the game? We'll find out shortly.
