Greg Sequele Ineligible, Will Not Play WSU Basketball

Greg Sequele was ruled academically ineligble by the NCAA and will not be playing with the Washington State Cougars basketball team.

Greg Sequele of the Washington St. Cougars was going to be the big man project. In a few years, he'd come in and help out Ken Bone as the new tall foreign sensation. Sequele was French, was a bit of a tweener, had a lot of raw potential, but with time could develop into an important player for this team. According to the CougCenter scouting report, his mid-range game was solid and has shown a good ability to block shots when given the chance. All of this was boding toward a promising career in Pullman.

You know, if he had the grades. But everyone generally has the grades for Washington State right? Take it away Vince Grippi of The Spokesman-Review!

Washington State confirms 6-foot-8 freshman Greg Sequele will not be enrolling in school. Did not meet NCAA eligibility requirements.

Oh.

Well, the Cougars aren't going to be hurt by this now; D.J. Shelton and Brock Motum are the main big options, with Charlie Enquist likely to fill in as well. But with no DeAngelo Casto to man heavy minutes, Washington State is going to have to rely on big men by committee, and Sequele's absence could limit its effectiveness this season.
