Washington State Cougars guard Klay Thompson recently sat down with Golden State Warriors color commentator Jim Barnett to break down film of his game and mostly discussed the strengths of his game and areas for improvement.
Although the focus was primarily on Thompson's shooting footwork in moving without the ball and spotting up, Thompson also credited WSU coach Ken Bone with encouraging him to become a more versatile player who could put the ball on the floor and get to the rim more effectively.
When Barnett asked what he thinks he need to improve on, Thompson pretty much offered the response that critics have been harping on.
"I think with the strength of the game, I'm going to have to get a little bit stronger, just because I'll be playing guys who were the man on their college team too," Thompson said. "The biggest adjustment for me is probably the speed of the game - just getting used to that 24 second shot clock and having a good motor."
Most people would argue those are things any college basketball player must adjust to, though Thompson might be getting extra scrutiny because his defensive ability is what people are most concerned about.
Either way, Yahoo Sports reporter Adrian Wojnarowski has tweeted that the Warriors are "enamored" with Thompson so this could be the beginning of many more Warriors interviews he has...if he's even still around when the pick at #11.
