College Football Rankings, Week 8: Oregon No. 1 In AP Top 25

After ascending to No. 1 in the coaches poll earlier this morning, the Oregon Ducks also assumed the No. 1 spot in the AP Poll, as expected. The Ducks passed Ohio State after the Buckeyes lost to Wisconsin yesterday. Oregon was on a bye after defeating Washington State in Pullman Oct. 9, 43-23.

Boise State, No. 2 in the USA Today Coaches Poll, also took the No. 2 spot in the AP Top 25, its highest ranking ever. The Broncos received 15 first place votes. No. 1 Oregon received 39 first place votes.

The Washington Huskies did have an impact on the poll, however. The Huskies knocked off No. 24 Oregon State at home in double overtime last night, dropping the Beavers out of the top 25.

Oregon is joined in the poll by two Pac-10 teams. No. 12 Stanford, No. 14 Arizona. USC and Oregon State fell out of the rankings.

Arizona moved up spots with its win over Washington State in Pullman last night.
