The Washington Huskies may be heading to the Las Vegas Bowl to face the Boise State Broncos, according to the Seattle Times. There are three 7-5 Pac-12 teams, and UW is expected to be the Las Vegas Bowl's choice after the Sun Bowl likely picks USC.
The twist in the story is that Washington is scheduled to play Boise State to open the 2013 season, meaning the two schools would meet in consecutive games. The bowl traditionally pits No. 5 in the Pac-12 against No. 1 in the Mountain West conference.
The bowl would most likely avoid choosing Arizona State (7-5), as the Sun Devils faced the Broncos in Las Vegas just one year ago. Boise State came away with an easy win in that contest, and a rematch wouldn't garner much interest among fans.
Washington would have been able to secure a spot in the Sun Bowl with a win in the Apple Cup, but the Huskies blew an 18-point fourth quarter lead and lost in overtime to Washington State.
