Huskies' Desmond Trufant gets invite to Senior Bowl

Trufant, whose NFL Draft stock has been rising, will have a chance to showcase his talents in the annual Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala.

Washington Huskies star cornerback Desmond Trufant has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl, according to Ryan Divish of The News Tribune.

The 6' Trufant has been one of the best cornerbacks in the Pac-12 this season, with five pass deflections and one interception. His most impressive game came against the USC Trojans and Heisman Trophy candidate Marqise Lee. Lee has torched opposing secondaries for 98 receptions and 1447 yards this year, but Trufant held the dangerous wide receiver to a season-low two catches for 32 yards.

The Senior Bowl could prove to be an important NFL Draft showcase for Trufant, who is currently projected to be a second round pick.

Trufant is questionable for the Huskies game against the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday. He has been plagued by a sore hamstring for a few weeks and had to skip a few series in last Saturday's win over Utah.
