The Washington Huskies have not played as well as some predicted at the start of the year, and they're coming off a tough 52-17 blowout loss to Arizona last weekend. Blame it on Keith Price, the injured offensive line or an inconsistent defense, the fact is UW simply needs to start winning games if they hope to reach a bowl game this season.
Despite the struggles and 3-4 record, SB Nation's Huskies blog, UW Dawg Pound, is staying confident in the team. Here is what they think will go down on Saturday as they take on the Oregon St. Beavers.
It will be tough-sledding against the Beaver defense, but the Husky defense will be even tougher, picking off Mannion twice, generating a fumble and Wilcox getting his mojo back after his worst showing of the year. The offense will do just enough to take advantage of the job done by their defensive cohorts, and the Huskies send the crowd home happy, winning 20-17.
Perhaps the biggest storyline to watch for is the play of Mannion in his return from knee surgery. The sophomore quarterback was great before missing the last few weeks, and it'll be interesting to see if there are any lingering effects from the surgery.
Kickoff this evening is set for 7:15 p.m. PT.
