The college football season got underway Thursday, and the Washington Huskies will open their season Saturday night with a 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT kickoff against the San Diego State Aztecs.

Washington, which finished last season with a record of 7-6 after falling to Baylor in the Valero Alamo Bowl, enters this season with high hopes of potentially earning a bid to a BCS bowl. To get there, though, the Huskies will have to rely heavily on junior quarterback Keith Price, who threw for 3,063 yards and 33 touchdowns as a sophomore.

San Diego State, meanwhile, is in a state of transition this season. The Aztecs 2012 campaign will be their final year in the Mountain West Conference before they join the Big East in 2013. San Diego State finished 8-5 last season with a loss to Louisiana-Lafayette in the R&L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.
