The Washington Huskies and Oregon Ducks men's basketball teams missed out on berths in the 2012 NCAA Tournament on Selection Sunday. But both teams are likely to get a shot at a postseason tournament after all, as both are projected to be selected to the 2012 NIT Tournament.
The Huskies are projected as a No. 1 seed selection in the tournament, along with the Seton Hall Pirates, Miami Hurricanes and Arizona Wildcats.
The Ducks are thought to be a No. 3 NIT seed, along with the Mississippi Rebels, Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and Marshall Thundering Herd.
Selections for the NIT will be announced at 6:00 p.m. PT on Sunday. For more info on the tournament projections, check out NIT-ology.
