The Washington Huskies host Loyola University Maryland on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. PT in Alaska Airlines Arena. The game, which will be televised on Pac-12 Networks, is the season-opener for UW, as it looks to work out the kinks with three new starters in the lineup.
Washington is pegged as an 8 1/2 point favorite in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. Loyola MD is coming off a successful season where they finished 24-9 and advanced to the NCAA tournament. The Greyhounds are 1-0, as they knocked off Binghamton on Friday.
Sunday's contest, along with Tuesday's game against Albany, are part of the Tip-Off Hall of Fame Tournament. The Huskies will play Seton Hall in the semifinals of the bracket regardless of the outcomes against Loyala MD and Albany.
The Huskies were picked fifth in the Pac-12 preseason poll after taking the regular season title in 2012. They will be gunning for their fifth-straight 20-win season this year.
