Washington Huskies defensive lineman Alameda Ta'amu has been invited to this year's NFL Combine. Ta'amu has been given a pre-combine projection of being drafted in the second round. Also invited is Ta'amu's teammate, offensive tackle Senio Kelemete. Kelemete was given a pre-combine projection of going un-drafted.
This year's scouting combine will take place from February 22nd through Februaty 28th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Though Ta'amu is projected by many NFL mock drafts to go in the second round, some have him slipping into the third round. Charlie Campbell from WalterFootball.com has Ta'amu going to the New York Jets in the third round with the No. 78 overall pick:
New York could use some youth at nose tackle. Sione Pouha is 32, and even though the Jets have a young backup nose tackle in Martin Tevaseu, they could use another for depth. Ta'amu is a good value here and could bolster New York's line rotation. (Via: WalterFootball)
Ta'amu will be looking to improve his draft stock and secure a second round selection with the Senior Bowl at the end of January and the NFL Combine at the end of February.
