UW Huskies Guard Abdul Gaddy Cleared To Return From ACL Injury

Washington Huskies fans got good news today with point guard Abdul Gaddy cleared to return to the court after tearing his ACL during practice on January 4.

Gaddy met with team doctor Chris Wahl, head trainer Pat Jenkins and Head Coach Lorenzo Romar on Wednesday morning and received a clean bill of health.

"They pretty much told me it's like I have never gotten hurt now," a smiling Gaddy said, just nine months after suffering the injury.

"Just go play," the doctors told him.

Gaddy had shown remarkable improvement as a scorer playing next to point guard Isaiah Thomas, who has since departed to the NBA - his 40.6 percent 3-point shooting was a huge asset for the Huskies. But the most encouraging sign from Gaddy last season was that he seemed to playing with more confidence than before, which allowed his talent to shine.

More than anything else about his game, you just hope the injury doesn't damage that confidence.
