This Friday the Pac-10 will officially become the Pac-12 with the additions of Utah and Colorado to the conference. Doug Haller from the Arizona Republic ranked who he believed to be the top ten best basketball teams in the conference since the conference started having ten teams back in 1978.
Unfortunately for Washington and Washington St. fans, neither the Huskies nor the Cougars make the top ten list or the honorable mention section. This omission is understandable when considering that both teams have yet to make it past the round of sixteen in the NCAA tournament.
Washington's best team most likely was its 2004-05 squad that secured a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. The best team for the Cougars during the Pac-10 era is the 2007-08 team that made it all the way to the Sweet 16.
UCLA claims three teams on the list, including the 1994-95 national championship team that featured current Husky Head Coach Lorenzo Romar as an Assistant Coach and current Seattle U Head Coach Cameron Dollar as a sophomore guard.
Arizona claims four teams on the list, including the No. 1 team, the 1987-88 Arizona Wildcats.
