Final Four 2011 Schedule: VCU Vs. Butler Opens The Final Four On Saturday

The Butler Bulldogs and VCU Rams are first on the docket for Saturday, set to open the Final Four in Houston. It’s not a flashy matchup, nor is it made for TV ratings, but it is an intriguing battle between mid-major wonder-teams. Butler has been here before and has the experience of the 2010 Final Four to fall back on. VCU, on the other hand, is playing on emotion and with a chip on its collective shoulder, looking to prove the doubters wrong after many wrote the team off on Selection Sunday.

Game time: VCU and Butler tip-off at 3:09 p.m. PDT.

Broadcast information: As always, CBS has the broadcasting rights and will cover all three games in Houston — the national semifinals and national championship.

Announcers: Who else would it be in the Final Four but Jim Nantz and Clark Kellogg. Nantz, who will head to The Masters next week, will be there to guide you with his smooth sounds over the course of the weekend.

Previews: You can find our Butler preview and VCU preview for an in-depth look at the statistics of the matchups, using a heavy Ken Pomeroy influence.
