NCAA Bracket Update, BYU Vs. Florida Score: Jimmer Fredette Not Enough As Gators Advance, 84-73

Regulation wasn’t enough for the Florida Gators and BYU Cougars in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Tied at 68 to end regulation, Florida and BYU took it to overtime, and the Gators finally began to pull away as Jimmer Fredette went cold. Fredette did all he could for BYU, scoring a game-high 32 points, but without a supporting cast, Florida was able to pick the Cougars apart when it mattered most en route to a 84-73 win.

Four Florida players were in double-figures, led by Alex Tyus’ 19 points and 17 rebounds. Kenny Boynton, playing on a sprained ankle, finished with 17 points, with Erving Walker and Chandler Parsons each adding 16 points.

Fredette was the only Cougar in double-figures with his game-high 32 points. Noah Hartsock and Jackson Emery each added nine points, but with Fredette taking 29 of the team’s 71 shots, it all rested on the BYU star.

Florida moves on to face either Wisconsin or Butler in the Elite Eight. A full look at the bracket can be found below and a printable bracket can be found at SB Nation.
