NCAA Bracket 2011: March Madness In Full Swing As Eight Teams Advance In NCAA Tournament

One day down, one more to go on the road to the 2011 Sweet Sixteen. In Saturday's NCAA Tournament action, March Madness lived up to its name with plenty of wild finishes and even an overtime thriller. When it was all over, eight teams were through to the Sweet Sixteen, including last year's Cinderella: Butler. It came at a cost, though, as No. 1 seed Pittsburgh fell, breaking many NCAA Tournament brackets.

Butler and Pittsburgh participated in the most frantic finish of the day as both teams traded fouls with under two seconds to go. Matt Howard calmly stepped to the free throw line and buried the game-winning free throw with under a second to go as the Bulldogs advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the second-straight year, busting brackets along the way.

Gonzaga also saw its tournament run ends at the hands of Jimmer Fredette. BYU's prolific scorer hung 34 points on the Zags as the Cougars secured a 22-point win to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. More bracket updates from throughout the day can be found at SB Nation's NCAA Tournament hub.
