NCAA Bracket 2011: March Madness Bracket Update With Final 32 Teams

After a lackluster Friday morning without an upset to speak of, the NCAA Tournament began to heat up again in the later sessions. Three double-digits seeds moved on in the NCAA bracket after pulling off upsets of varying degrees. The big boys also made March Madness debuts, with three No. 1 seeds in action on Friday.

Marquette was the first to pull an upset, putting away Xavier Friday evening, 66-55. Later, VCU pulled off the same feat, taking down No. 6 Georgetown with hot shooting from beyond the arc, 74-56. For a team the masses bemoaned as undeserving, VCU's two-straight wins have to be satisfying for fans of the Rams. Florida State also won in a minor upset, knocking off Texas A&M on Friday afternoon.

The Washington Huskies recovered from a slow first half in the final session of games to advance to the third round with a 68-65 win over Georgia. Washington had trouble closing the game out as the Bulldogs used a late surge to nearly stun the Huskies down the stretch. A desperation heave for the tie was off the mark, preserving the three-point win and setting the Huskies on a collision course with the North Carolina Tar Heels in the third round.
