President Barack Obama made his annual NCAA Tournament picks, filing out a bracket for ESPN on Wednesday. Chalk would be the apt word for his bracket, with upsets hard to come by and all four No. 1 seeds in the Final Four. Yes, Ohio State, Duke, Kansas and Pittsburgh all survived the regionals in Obama’s bracket, which has Kansas beating Ohio State for the national championship.
So we know who takes home the title, according to Obama, but what about our local teams? In the first round, it’s good news for both Washington and Gonzaga. Obama picked the Huskies to take care of Georgia in Charlotte and picked Gonzaga to upset St. John’s in Denver in the first round. The bad news? He has both the Huskies and Zags losing in the second round as the favorites prevail once again.
