2011 National Signing Day: Stephan Nembot To Announce Wednesday Evening; Washington Still In The Mix

New, 1 comment

Stephan Nembot’s recruiting saga has been filled with more twists and turns than anyone ever expected. Nembot is an incredibly raw recruit, only taking up football in the last year. His potential, though, had schools from all over the Pac-12 going after him with gusto, leading to the mess we’ve watched unfold over the last two weeks. Tonight, Nembot will end it all, making a final decision in Los Angeles and signing with either Washington or Colorado.

Here’s how we got to this point.

Nembot first committed to Washington State, telling recruiting services he felt comfortable with the Cougars. It was far from a ringing endorsement, but it was good enough for many to call him verbally committed.

That all changed within the last two weeks, with Nembot changing his mind and pledging to the Washington Huskies. Head coach Steve Sarkisian made a late push and, apparently, did enough to lock Nembot up just before signing day.

Still wanting to round out his official visits, Nembot took a trip to Colorado this past weekend and, apparently, enjoyed it. He liked it so much that it put him back on the fence, unable to decide where he should play college football. Torn between Washington and Colorado, Nembot decided to wait and make a final decision on signing day.

It’s clear Nembot is having trouble with the recruiting process, but he will make a firm decision and sign a Letter of Intent this evening. Will it be Washington or Colorado that pulls it out in the end? We’ll be keeping track of Nembot this evening as he chooses between the Huskies and Buffaloes in our signing day StoryStream.
