De'Anthony Thomas Set To Announce At 6 P.M., Still Leaning Oregon

De’Anthony Thomas will have the stage all to himself this evening, announcing his college choice at 6 p.m. The announcement time was pushed back, and still subject to change, as Thomas continues to hear last-second pitches for his services, apparently. It’s down to the Oregon Ducks and USC Trojans for the electric athlete from Los Angeles, though he has been committed to Lane Kiffin and the Trojans since last may.

On Tuesday night, reports surfaced indicating Thomas would sign with Oregon after taking a trip to Eugene this past weekend. That speculation was fueled by a picture of Thomas decked-out in Oregon gear, snapped earlier this week.

ESPNU’s Jeremy Crabtree reported Thomas is hearing from schools trying hard to sway his decision at the last moment today, just hours before he makes his final decision. His once-quiet recruitment ignited with the news that Oregon was in the mix, with at least one analyst throwing the Washington Huskies into the ring on Tuesday.

Where will Thomas, the nation’s No. 1 athlete, end up? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but if the last few days are any indication, the next few hours will be a wild ride. Stay tuned to our StoryStream for the latest on signing day and Thomas as more becomes available.
