Bishop Sankey Signs With Washington Huskies On Signing Day

It’s no surprise, but four-star running back Bishop Sankey’s switch to Washington is official this morning. Sankey was verbally committed to the Washington State Cougars for over a year before making a last-minute switch, pledging to the Washington Huskies last week just ahead of signing day. He had been the biggest recruit in the Cougars’ 2011 recruiting class, but felt Washington was a better fit.

Sankey’s Letter of Intent rolled through the fax machine this morning at 8:34 a.m., binding him to the Huskies. At Gonzaga Prep, Sankey put together a record-breaking career, snapping the GSL rushing mark and nearly breaking Jonathan Stewart’s state rushing mark. Sankey is rated as a four-star running back, and is ranked among the top-20 at his position in the class of 2011.

Keep an eye on our national signing day StoryStream for the latest from the local schools as faxes and Letters of Intent continue to roll in throughout the day. Both Washington and Washington State are set to sign a full class of 25 or more, with the Huskies’ class among the top-15 in the nation.
