The Washington Huskies have generally been the kings of Pacific Northwest hoops lately. The Oregon Ducks look like they're set to join them.
Washington is set at 60/1 odds to win the 2012 NCAA basketball championship, although they're probably headed for a down year after losing three of their biggest contributors in Isaiah Thomas, Matthew Bryan-Amaning and Justin Holiday. Although there are some pretty talented guys ready to fill in for the Huskies, it's not looking as if they're going to be making as big an impact even if they have guys like Abdul Gaddy and Tony Wroten, Jr. ready to man the backcourt in Seattle.
What could be just as interesting is how well Oregon fares. The Ducks are surprisingly set pretty well at 75/1 odds, which makes sense considering that talent like Malcolm Armstead, E.J. Singler and Garrett Sim all return to the court, and a big-time recruit like Jabari Brown is set to join them. Oregon could be poised for a breakout season in the Pac-12 and could be your sleeper to make some noise come February and March.
