Keith Price Injury: Washington QB Doubtful For Oregon State Game

Washington Huskies quarterback Keith Price is doubtful for this weekend's game against the Oregon State Beavers.

The Washington Huskies are stumbling toward the finish in this 2011 season, losers of three of their last four contests in Pac-12 play. It might be getting worse before it gets better.

The USC Trojans battered Washington and Price all day last Saturday afternoon in the Coliseum, and the UW quarterback eventually sprained his knee on a sack in the third quarter. The sprain knocked him out of the game and put Nick Montana (son of Joe) into the football game. Price's coach Steve Sarkisian said that his injury could keep him out of action against the Oregon St. Beavers.

Price has not had a strong finish to the season, but he's still by far the best option the Huskies have at quarterback. He's mobile, he has good knowledge of Sarkisian's system, and has been pretty good at moving the football most of the year. Throwing Montana into the fire could be dicey (even if he looked modestly effective at the tail end of the USC game), and might give Oregon State a glimmer of hope going into this weekend's trap game in Corvallis.
