Sarkisian And Kiffin Not Text Buddies This Week

The war of words between Husky head coach Steve Sarkisian and USC head coach Lane Kiffin continues via text message this week, with both coaches sending good-natured texts to each other ahead of Saturday’s matchup. The two are old friends from their coaching days at USC and remain close, though they now work for division rivals.

The LA Daily News reported on some of the texts today, noting the gamesmanship is high between the two.

He then suggested Sarkisian was “trying to show how busy he is.”

Sarkisian followed up by telling reporters it wasn’t true that he failed to respond to any text messages. And Kiffin followed that up Tuesday night by saying Sarkisian did respond.

“He told me (Washington quarterback Jake) Locker got hurt and is out for the game,” Kiffin said.

The battle between the highly-entertaining coaches takes to the field this Saturday at 5 p.m.
