College Football Scores, Week 14: Oregon Ducks Win Civil War, Will Play For The National Championship

The Oregon Ducks have made it through the season without a blemish on their record, dropping the Oregon State Beavers in the Civil War, 37-20. The win puts the Ducks into the BCS National Championship Game, a notion that will be confirmed when the final BCS rankings are released tomorrow.

The Ducks did it on the ground, as they have all season, using both LaMichael James and Kenjon Barner to gash the Beavers. James finished with 134 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries. Barner did more with less, finishing with 133 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.

The Ducks held Oregon State’s Jacquizz Rodgers in check all afternoon, limiting the explosive back to just 87 yards on the ground. With Rodgers out of the picture, Ryan Katz had to shoulder the load and carry the offense. To an extent, he did, passing for 227 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. Markus Wheaton was the biggest benefactor, catching 10 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown. Rodgers also hauled-in a touchdown out of the backfield.

The Ducks finished the regular season a perfect 12-0, atop the Pac-10 and in the top-2 of the BCS. Oregon State finished the year at 5-7, just missing bowl eligibility. Congratulations to the Pac-10 champion, and BCS bound, Oregon Ducks.
