The Stanford Cardinal jumped out to an early lead over the Arizona Wildcats and never looked back. In a matchup between two of the Pac-10’s three ranked teams, the Cardinal looked dominant en route to a 42-17 victory.
Andrew Luck had another great day through the air, completing 23 of his 32 passes for 293 yards and two touchdowns. Chris Owusu was the biggest benefactor, catching nine passes for 165 yards and a touchdown. Stepfan Taylor and Anthony Wilkerson combined to rush for 163 yards. Taylor also added four touchdowns on the ground.
Nick Foles returned from a knee injury, throwing for 248 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Junior Criner finished with nine catches for 98 yards and a touchdown while Keola Antolin added 86 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
The Cardinal improve to 8-1 with the win, good for second place in the Pac-10 behind the undefeated Oregon Ducks. Arizona falls to 8-2 on the season. Stanford travels to Tempe to take on the Arizona State Sun Devils next week. Arizona hosts the USC Trojans next Saturday.
