In a surprising twist, the Washington defense showed up in Eugene today and has been dominating the line of scrimmage through one quarter. The Ducks and Huskies are scoreless after one, just like we all expected, right? Keith Price is 3-6 for 14 yards thus far and freshman Jesse Callier added 28 yards on the ground.
For the Ducks, Darron Thomas took to the air, amassing 98 yards on 9-14 passing. LaMichael picked up 26 yards on seven carries and D.J. Davis added two catches for 57 yards. John Hunt is reporting receiver Jeffrey Maehl went to the sideline and was having his shoulder checked late in the first quarter.
There’s a long way to go, but the Husky defense is exceeding expectations thus far.
