It’s an outburst of scoring in the third quarter! After Jake Locker found D’Andre Goodwin for an 80-yard touchdown, the Cal Bears answered, forcing a Jake Locker fumble on third down and returning it for a score. With the Cal offense stuck in reverse, a defensive touchdown was about the best thing the Bears could’ve asked for.
Mike Mohamed came up the middle on a blitz, flying into the backfield untouched to drop Locker and force the fumble. Cameron Jordan scooped up the loose ball and rumbled 21 yards for the score. The extra point put Cal back into the lead, 10-7.
Washington answered, thanks in large part to a 67-yard kickoff return by Jesse Callier. The Huskies’ offense stalled again, setting up a 38-yard Nick Folk field goal. Folk was perfect, tying the game again.
After three quarters in Berkley, Cal and Washington are knotted at 10.
