With week 12 in the books, it's time to look at the conference race and the battle for bowl eligibility. Oregon was idle this week, remaining undefeated after a sure victory over the always feisty BYE. The Stanford Cardinal took care of business in the Big Game, dominating Cal en route to a 48-14 victory. Oregon and Stanford remain the class of the conference and may both end up in a BCS bowl at the end of the season.

The race for six wins and bowl eligibility is still a giant, muddy mess. Three teams are already in, with USC on the outside due to sanctions, and only one team is on the outside, Washington State. The Washington Huskies must win-out and Oregon State must beat either Stanford or Oregon to reach the magic number. California has to beat Washington next weekend, ensuring one of those two will be eliminated. Arizona State must also win out.
With six bowl contracts, the Pac-10 is in serious jeopardy of being unable to fill its commitments.
