Tere Calloway Offered By San Diego State

Seattle Prep HS football recruit Tere Calloway has been offered by San Diego State. Here's a story covering his current recruitment.

Tere Calloway received his sixth scholarship offer from San Diego State (SDSU) on Thursday. Calloway, a class of 2013 defensive back and safety recruit from Seattle Prep HS has had a whirlwind month.

Colorado, Idaho, Portland State, Purdue and Southern Methodist (SMU) all have extended scholarship offers, with five of them coming in the last month.

Additionally, several Pac-12 schools, including Washington are actively recruiting him.

Currently, Calloway has no favorites and is overwhelmed by the amount of attention he's recently received.

"They all have different things that intrigue me," said Calloway. "It's been a surprise to receive all of these offers."

Calloway competed in the New Level Athletics Elite 7 on 7 tournament in Las Vegas and was named to the All-Tourney defensive team.

The majority of the schools recruiting Calloway see him playing cornerback or safety, while some schools like Syracuse are recruiting him as a running back. Calloway said he has no preference on what position he plays at the next level.

"My versatility is my best strength," said Calloway. "I'm able to play as a lock-down cornerback and a hard-hitting safety."

This summer Calloway will be participating in an invite-only Nike football training camp and also will participate in a couple of college camps.

Calloway hopes to have a final list of favorite schools compiled before the start of his high school season this fall.
