2011 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game: Seattle Storm's Swin Cash To Participate

I know the NBA is dead to more than one basketball fan in Seattle.

And, of course, hearing people say that Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant will be "the franchise's" first NBA All-Star starter since Gary Payton in 1998 is not likely to change that.

But as SBN's Tom Ziller mentioned a while ago, it sure would have been nice to see 6'5" Seattle Storm player Lauren Jackson take Bill Simmons down on the block and go to work in the 2011 NBA All-Star celebrity game. While we won't get that, Seattle will get a representative at NBA All-Star weekend despite no longer having a NBA team as described at StormBasketball.com.

The WNBA announced today that forward Swin Cash will represent the Seattle Storm in this Friday’s BBVA NBA All-Star Celebrity Game as part of All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles. Cash is a veteran of the Celebrity Game, having played in 2006 in Houston and 2008 in New Orleans. She will be playing with fellow WNBA star Tamika Catchings as well as NBA legends Magic Johnson, Chris Mullin and Scottie Pippen and a host of stars from the entertainment world, including pop star Justin Bieber and TV’s Jason Alexander. The BBVA NBA All-Star Celebrity Game will air on ESPN this Friday, Feb. 18, at 4:00 p.m.

So could the opportunity to see Cash school Bieber be entertaining, if well short of the Jackson-Simmons dream matchup? Possibly.
