Fredy Montero Scores A Ridiculous Goal

The Sounders beat Jaguares de Chiapas 2-0 this evening and they did so with little trouble; Seattle controlled every phase or the game and cruised to a 2-0 victory, with a Fredy Montero brace the difference, but the second goal was a pretty special but of finishing from the Sounders Designated Player:

The Sounders were letting loose with all kinds of FIFA 12-esque ridiculousness this evening, but Montero's cheeky chip was fairly ostentatious. That's the kind of goal a player scores when he expects everything to go in, and it's a pretty good sign for the upcoming season.

LA Galaxy are the favorites to bring home the MLS Cup again, and it's not difficult to see why. But the way this Sounders team looked tonight, things not be as cut-and-dried as they may have seemed. If Fredy Montero can continue doing things like this, well, the Sounders just might as well hoist the Champions League trophy.
