Emerald City Supporters Unfurl Massive TIFO Ahead Of Cascadia Cup Match

Here in the Northwest, the Cascadia Cup, a three-way derby between the Portland Timbers, Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps, is a huge deal in the world of soccer. The Timbers and Sounders, especially, are hated rivals and Saturday night marks the first time the rivalry takes center-stage in MLS. And the Sounders' supporters were up to the task, as evidenced by the massive TIFO Emerald City Supporters unfurled ahead of the game.

Massive doesn't even quite do this justice. Below is a picture of the TIFO, which stretches across the Brougham End seats and all the way up to the top deck of the stadium (via Sounders FC). You can also find the North End TIFO here.

The TIFO pays tribute to Fredy Montero, Brian Schmetzer, Jimmy Gabriel, Roger Levesque and others. We knew ECS would step their game up and they absolutely brought it with the display. Job well done.
