New England Revolution vs. Seattle Sounders: Lineups And Analysis

With the Sounders needing a win to keep their hopes of bringing home the Supporters Shield alive, Sigi Schmid will start a stronger lineup than many expected against the New England Revolution in Foxboro, MA. Still, "much stronger" is very much a relative term; this is a mix of youth and experience it certainly leans towards the side of youth and is light on first-team players. Perhaps most interesting is the inclusion of Alvaro Fernandez in the starting XI; unless the Uruguayan winger is scripted to leave the game early on, it seems unlikely to expect him to start in Tuesday's US Open Cup final. That lends credence to the belief that Mauro Rosales will make an earlier than expected return from injury.
