While most of Friday's training at the VMAC consisted of speed and agility testing, the Seattle Sounders did hit the field for 11-on-11 scrimmages to end the day. The Sounders were broken up into three teams, going full-speed in a game-type situation. Those scrimmages gave us a peek at what the 2011 Sounders may look like.
The starters were filled with the players we've become accustomed to, with little change from last season. It was the second-team, if you will, that was interesting, and something we'll get into later. Here are the teams:
First-team: GK Kasey Keller, RB James Riley, CB Patrick Ianni, CB Jeff Parke, LB Leo Gonzalez, CM Osvaldo Alonso, CM Brad Evans, LM Steve Zakuani, RM Alvaro Fernandez, WF Fredy Montero, TF Blaise NKufo
Second-team: Gk Terry Boss, RB Zach Scott, CB Tyson Wahl, CB John Kennedy Hurtado, LB Danny Earls, CM Erik Friberg, CM Servando Carrasco, LM Miguel Montano, RM Eduardo Kambaba, WF Mike Fucito, TF O'Brian White
The third team was made up of everyone else, mostly consisting of the youngsters and camp invitees. The Seattle Times' Joshua Mayers was able to round up the entire third team, a task in itself.

The pairing of O'Brian White and Mike Fucito is a quick one, with both among the top-five fastest Sounders. More than once, Fucito used his speed to blow by the back line and create space in the box on a run-out. White, on the other hand, possesses the speed and size to create matchup fits, which he did in a more holding position on Friday.
Eduardo Kambaba is an invitee, but made quite an impression on Friday. In one of the 11-on-11, Kambaba had a beautiful goal, winning the ball out of the air while flicking it towards the inside with his head before burying a rocket-volley. Kambaba also appeared to be one of the fastest players in the speed drills.
Steve Zakuani and O'Brian White also scored goals. Zakuani's came off the left wing after he was given some space to work and White's came off a rebound after Carrasco put one off the crossbar.
The Sounders will make a few roster moves, trimming it down by about five players, before flying to Arizona on Sunday for about two weeks of two-a-day training sessions.
