Halftime: Sounders 0-0 Chicago

Not for want of trying on the Fire’s part, the match in Chicago remains scoreless. Although the Fire have spent most of the game in Seattle’s half, they’ve managed some astounding misses, although Kasey Keller did have to pull out an astounding save from a Marco Pappa shot just before the whistle blew.

The Seattle squad has managed to do little more than kick the ball directly at Sean Johnson, who has suitably saved every shot. For some reason, Sigi Schmid has elected to play Sanna Nyassi rather than Alvaro Fernandez, even though Nyassi has yet to make an impression on the pitch. Nate Sturgis is having a poor showing, giving the ball away in midfield, and although James Riley is a definite improvement on Zach Scott, it still appears as though the former is suffering a bit.

So into the half, and hoping that Seattle make a change that allows for a better attacking threat.
