Goalflash: Seattle Sounders 1-0 Houston Dynamo

James Riley opened the scoring in the eleventh minute in Houston with his second goal of the season.

The Sounders peppered the box with multiple shots, forcing two excellent saves from Houston goalkeeper Tyler Deric. Seattle pressed on and caused a scramble in the box, with the Dynamo players looking utterly clueless. Nate Jaqua passed the ball out to Riley, who hit it with the outside of his right boot from twenty yards, driving the ball past Deric into the top corner of the net.

If this is game is a test for Houston’s abilities next season, it doesn’t bode well for the Dynamo. The Sounders have barely allowed the home side a touch on the ball, and seem bent on asserting their dominance in the league. Seattle are seeking their sixth straight win to wrap up the regular MLS season on a positive note before hosting their first playoff match at Qwest Field next Sunday.
