The Seattle Seahawks continue their 2012 preseason play Friday against the Kansas City Chiefs. While Matt Flynn has started the first two preseason games for Seattle, Russell Wilson will make his first NFL start against the Chiefs.
Wilson played the second half of Seattle's first two preseason games, performing well each time. He has completed 22-of-33 passes for 279 yards with three touchdowns and one interception. He has also rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown. Now, Wilson will get the opportunity to play with the first team and see if he can continue to have success against defensive starters.
Even though it is just a preseason game, there is a lot riding on the game for Wilson -- possibly even the starting quarterback job. Reports earlier this week suggest Wilson may have the lead in the quarterback competition with Matt Flynn and could even win the regular-season starting job with a strong game Friday.
Wilson will have some help on the offensive side, as Seahawks No. 1 wide receiver Sidney Rice will make his 2012 preseason debut. In addition to Rice, tight end Zach Miller will also return after missing last week's game.
Game Date/Time: Friday, August 24; 8:00 p.m. ET
Location: Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, Mo.
TV Schedule: KCPQ 13 (Seattle), KCTV 5 (Kansas City)
