Seattle Seahawks QB Battle: Tarvaris Jackson Might Have Edge On Matt Flynn, Russell Wilson

The Seattle Seahawks probably have no idea who their starting quarterback will be come opening day. They do have some idea of who the leader is going into training camp though, and it's the main who's familiar with the system.

Eric D. Williams of the Tacoma News Tribune filed this report that still has Tarvaris Jackson possessing the inside track to becoming Seattle's number one quarterback next fall.

"T-Jack (Jackson) has more familiarity after all the years he was with Bev (Seattle offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who coached Jackson while both were in Minnesota)."

Matt Flynn might have been handed a rich contract this offseason, but he's still going to have to fight to earn that number one spot as his deal won't guarantee him anything. Meanwhile, rookie Russell Wilson lingers in the background as a potential sleeper to land the spot, but he's got a lot of learning to do.

"Russell and Matt both have ground to make up because they're learning new systems," Carroll said. "And they both are doing exceedingly well at that, but they have more ground to make up.
