Mel Kiper Mock Draft Has Seattle Seahawks Picking Quinton Coples, Ronnell Lewis

The Seattle Seahawks have specific needs to address in the 2012 NFL Draft, particularly on their front seven and their linebacking corps. And it makes sense to solve both of those issues with their first and second round picks.

Mel Kiper has released his latest mock draft (view the entire mock draft here if you have an ESPN Insider account) and the Seahawks end up picking a solid defensive end who can fit into their system with their first round pick. Seattle takes defensive end Quinton Coples at this spot.

Even if [Luke] Kuechly is still on the board, it would be tough for Seattle to pass on perhaps the safest 4-3 DE option available. Coples has prototypical size, can play every down as a pass-rusher and has a solid arsenal of moves to get to opposing quarterbacks, but with the size and discipline to be a force against the run. Seattle can't go wrong here with either the top LB or DE available. This defense is close to being considered among the NFL's finest

Seattle looks for a linebacker in the second round, and they go with Ronnell Lewis.

His production dipped some in 2011, but Lewis could start as a situational pass-rusher and become more.
