NFL Draft Results 2012: Rams Select Janoris Jenkins With 39th Pick of 2nd Round

With the 39th pick of the 2nd round in the 2012 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams have selected Janoris Jenkins , a cornerback from Northern Alabama. Despite being a Division II player, many had Jenkins as one of the better CBs available in the draft. After taking Michael Brockers in the first round, the Rams have selected Jenkins and wide receiver Appalachian State (33rd overall) in the second round.

Here is more on Jenkins from Sports Illustrated.

Jenkins' skills on the field compare favorably with most of the top cornerbacks in this draft, as he's a prospect with starting potential for the next level. His off-the-field issues are another matter altogether and have scared away several teams. If he focuses on football and is able to minimize off-the-field distractions, Jenkins can be a productive NFL starter. Otherwise, he may turn into a player who never lives up to expectations.

The Rams' next pick is the 13th selection of the 2nd round, 45th overall. Head over to NFL.com to track every pick as the Draft moves on.
