With the 14th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams have selected Michael Brockers, a defensive tackles from LSU. The Rams traded down to get Brockers, adding plenty of draft picks along the way. Despite only starting one season with the Tigers, Brockers is expected to see plenty of playing time in his rookie year with the Rams.
Here is more on Brockers from Sports Illustrated.
Brockers is an intriguing prospect with outstanding size, power and growth potential, but he's raw and rough around the edges. He offers tremendous upside for the next level as either a conventional tackle or a defender who could eventually line up at nose tackle. Brockers is slightly overrated heading into the draft, but he could develop into a very good NFL starter if he learns to consistently play with proper fundamentals.
The Rams' next pick is the 1st selection of the 2nd round, 33 overall.
