The Seattle Seahawks continue to be one of the most talked about teams in the draft as what they do at the no. 12 spot will dictate a lot of what happens after them. It seems like a consensus is developing that the Seahawks will indeed look to upgrade their defense with the no. 12 pick but who that person turns out to be still remains to be seen.
Ryan Van Bibber of SB Nation's latest mock draft has the Seahawks taking North Carolina defensive end Quinton Coples. Here is Van Bibber's reasoning.
Coples is like [Memphis defensive tackle Dontari] Poe in that some are questioning his ability to reach his potential, just like teams were with Robert Quinn last year. Seattle will gladly take a chance on him to add an outside threat.
Both Sports Illustrated's Peter King and NFL Films' Greg Cosell have the Seahawks taking South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram in this spot. But Van Bibber has Ingram going no. 7 the Jacksonville Jaguars which explains his Coples selection.
It also proves that nobody really knows anything about what's about to happen. Don't you just love the pre-draft? It's almost as much fun as the draft itself.
