The Seattle Seahawks are starting a brand new age, and Nike will be their partners down the road. Nike has started their license with the NFL, and they're ready to get going with their new jerseys. Anne Peterson of the Associated Press files this report.
The biggest changes will likely be in the performance aspect of the uniforms, like newer lightweight fabrics and a sleek silhouette, but a few teams could get the Cinderella treatment.
Nike isn't commenting until the big reveal.
Dennis Dillon of Sports Illustrated has more on the situation.
In February, Nike President and CEO Mark Parker told CNBC's Darren Rovell: "We've innovated at a very high level. The uniforms are lighter, they're faster, they're better fitting. So, the athletes are actually very excited about what we're going to bring to the professional game. People are wondering, 'What are you going to do? Are you going to get crazy with the uniforms?' I think we're actually going to have some fun but respect the tradition of these teams at the same time."
However, it appears as if the Seahawks will be the only one getting a total overhaul of their new jerseys. Mike Sando of the ESPN NFC West Blog discusses it briefly.
The Seattle Seahawks are expected to unveil completely new uniforms. It's been about a decade since the team's most recent redesign. Seattle is the only team, to my knowledge, expected to unveil a redesign.
Here's a sample of the new logo that will probably be emblazoned on the helmets, which isn't that much stronger.
Nick Eaton of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer files this report.
