2012 NFL Mock Draft: Seahawks Select DE Melvin Ingram In Don Banks' Latest Mock

The 2012 NFL Draft is getting so close you can almost hear Roger Gooddell warming up him pipes. Well, it's not that close yet, but there's a whole lot of of possibility to be had in this year's draft for every NFL team, including the Seattle Seahawks.

Sports Illustrated's Don Banks has released his latest mock draft, and after some deliberation settles on DE Marvin Ingram out of South Carolina as the Seahawks' first round draft choice this year.

Here is Banks with the commentary:

The Seahawks need pass rush help and linebackers, and Ingram is versatile enough to handle whatever job Pete Carroll asks him to do. Ingram is slipping a bit on some boards, but he doesn't tumble out of the top 12 on this one.

Even though he is slipping elsewhere, the talented Ingram isn't getting out of the top 12 according to Banks. He would certainly help Seattle keep their QB's upright, and provide some stable, long-term protection once he is acclimated with Pate Carroll's system. Listed as 6'2" 276 pounds, he could use some extra weight to throw around once in the league, but not a whole lot. This seems like a great fit for both Ingram and Seattle.
