Pete Carroll's Surprise Visit To Peyton Manning Went Poorly

As if it wasn't bad enough to not be truly given a chance during the Peyton Manning sweepstakes, now this comes to light.

Look at what happened when Pete Carroll tried to surprise Manning with a visit during his free agency, according to SI.com's Peter King.

"One more surprise: Manning got a call informing him that Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had flown, unannounced with Seattle GM John Schneider to the airport in Englewood. Carroll would do whatever Manning wanted - talk for a while in Denver or on the plane to Arizona, his next visit, or fly him to Seattle for a lengthier discussion.

Peyton Manning does not like surprises. He said no thanks. Carroll flew home."

Ouch. Carroll must have had USC flashbacks and thought he could swoop in last minute and grab the biggest recruit in the NFL sea but he wasn't given a glass of water. It's okay coach, just look forward to the Matt Flynn era.
