NFL Mock Draft 2012: Seattle Seahawks Select Melvin Ingram In First Round

The Seattle Seahawks just missed out on the playoffs in 2011 and appear to be poised for a return to postseason play with a strong showing at the upcoming NFL Draft. While there are quite a few spots the team would like to improve upon with their numerous selections, including the No. 12 overall pick in the first round, many feel they will look for a pass rusher at either the defensive end or OLB positions.

In the latest mock draft from FOX Sports, the Seahawks selected Melvin Ingram from the University of South Carolina. Here is a snippet from the article and scouting report.

12. Seattle Seahawks: Melvin Ingram, DE/OLB, South Carolina: Ingram solidified himself as a top-20 pick with a dominant week of Senior Bowl practices. Capable of playing either outside linebacker or defensive end, he's a pass-rushing force who can cover tight ends in the passing game, too.

Seattle's got needs at wideout and the local fan base may be pushing for a quarterback here, but I think they go with Ingram, the 6-2, 270 pound scheme versatile defender.
